Description

The Buck diesel engine offers a new approach to diesel engine construction and assembly. A family of engines that are modular in design, these engines are lighter, more compact, more powerful, more durable and more emissions friendly. A unique two injector per cylinder design will increase the fuel mapping potential exponentially and result in lower emissions capability. Ranging from 150 to 700 HP and designed from the bottom up with a totally different approach, these engines are capable of exceptional cooling, allowing for substantial improvements in power output while increasing longevity. An added benefit of the cooling design is the ability to operate in hot environments as well as uniformity of wear and greater emissions reduction. This exceptional cooling ability is accomplished by delivering coolant to each cylinder individually and independent of the other cylinders. Using individual and shorter cooling paths, hot spots and temperature stacking are eliminated. With a focus on interchangeability of parts, these new designs will reduce parts inventories by as much as 50%. Service and repair time will also be cut by as much as 75% due to the NO MACHINING REQUIRED? designs. Since no flat gaskets are used, no surface preparation is required for assembly or re-assembly. The entire gasket set can be placed in a small plastic bag. There are no more large boxes required for gaskets, which take up space and cost more to transport. Prototypes are running.
