Description

RoofWalk (RW) will produce remote roof measurement reports from satellite imagry. We will have one competitor, EagleView Technologies (EVT). EVT produced its first roof report in Feb 2008. Its flagship service is $78 per report, and their website advertises that it employs “hundreds of highly trained roofing technicians”. Assuming 200 employees, average report price of $60, and time to complete one report of 30 minutes (same as my product), EVT would produce 3,000 reports and revenue of $180,000 a day. For a 14 month old company that has only penetrated a fraction of the market those are phenomenal numbers. They will continue to multiply if no competition surfaces. It costs a contractor about 2-3 hours, or $125-$175 to send someone to a home to measure a roof, which is why this service is taking off the way it is.

EVT report’s are limited to the paper; no data in the report can be changed. All RW reports will be available to customers on the internet. The biggest advantage that RW will provide is the ability to make changes to any values provided in the initial report of the roof. After making changes, all resulting totals and material lists will be recalculated. This is a very valuable, as the customer can easily determine exact measurements after receiving the initial report.

RoofWalk is seeking $300,000 in capital. Since the product is nearing completion, most capital will be used to promote the company. With proper capital, we will be profitable in a few months.
