Description
Cynik is a user generated design and product personalization social community for music fans. Fans of bands can access, create and upload designs, create products and enter design competitions. Community features and tools allow users to interact with bands, designers and fans, and share designs across the web. Cynik will allow fans to interact and connect with bands in a deeper more participative way. Bands will sell limited edition products created by crowd-sourced design. They’ll also monetize their catalog of designs via Cynik’s direct to product printing capabilities.
User generated content, community, and the “long tail” has transformed digital content, entertainment and advertising - Cynik believes they can have a similar effect on product design and commerce. Internet and digital production technologies now exist to make user generated product design and “micro-retailing” a reality, allowing content owners of all sizes to create and monetize an infinite number of custom products. “Micro-retailing” will enable small bands, brands and individuals who wouldn't otherwise be able to set up a retail operation due to setup costs and inventory risk. Large bands, brands and content owners will be able to leverage user generated content and community, and monetize their entire catalog as they will no longer be constrained by inventory management and shelf space.
